I’m trying to put together a holiday playlist for the bookstore, which is supposed to involve 60-70% normal music and 30-40% holiday. I should probably note at this point that I hate holiday pop music. As I scroll through my iTunes, pretty much all I have are a few Johnnys songs, a bunch of nasal traditional Celtic stuff, the Love, Actually soundtrack, and Draco & the Malfoys’ version of All I Want for Christmas.
All I want, it turns out, is a Great Big Sea holiday album. PLEASE, GUYS?
I mean, it would probably be all about drinking and partying and being stranded on an ice floe with both your legs chopped off while your sweetheart runs off with a Yankee sailor, but you know. IT WOULD STILL BE AWESOME.

Date: 2010-11-27 12:18 am (UTC)I should mention that I have a thing for weird/obscure holiday music. (ie: random goth holiday music with sepulchral versions of carol of the bells)

Date: 2010-11-27 02:27 am (UTC)So much holiday music is dire, and yet that which I love, I adore. Great Big Sea, eh? Maybe I should expand my musical horizons again.
