Okay...I don't have anything to further comment on your post, actually. I just agree with *everything you say*.

<3 How *did* they manage to make a show this capable of falling into cliche and tropedom so fresh? The characterization of everyone was so excellent, that they were multi-dimensional, as were their feelings, even when they were being teens with that Heightened Experience of EVERYTHING.
I need to look up the name of the writers on this so that I can keep my eyes peeled for future projects.
As for Jin Gook--I was kinda disappointed about him, until (REALLY LATE) I realized he was not going to win [let's just say my heartache for Sam Dong was very real] and then I was like...oh. He's that guy. The one you think is so hot in high school, and then grow out of. EXCELLENT. And the fact I wasn't invested in him much made it all easier.
