To seek the pale enchanted gold
May. 8th, 2004 11:58 amAh, the joy that is the Wellesley Sci-fi/Fantasy Club! Props to Kaelin and Jack especially. More than once I had to quash the urge to say things like "This is just like wot the Dwarves done at the Great Goblin's caverns. 'Cept they was dodging goblins, not pipes" and "Riddles in the dark...." ... not to mention firmly telling myself that people would NOT appreciate my rendition of
And down down to Goblin-town
You go, my lad!
...
While Goblins quaff, and Goblins laugh,
Round and round far underground,
Below, my lad!
however appropriate it would have been. Alas, no Goblin drinking songs for Fiona. This was compensated for by the fabulousness that is Galaxy Quest, preceded by The Last Unicorn, which I had never seen (or read). I loved it, "happy" ending or no happy ending. TNG was, as always, fantastic. I think I appreciate "Qpid" more now that we've completed our Robin Hood-movie marathon. Well, not so much a marathon as a "hey, let's watch Robin Hood movies and then forget about it for a month" thing.
Must. Stop. Rambling. and do SEQs. I think I'd rather take on the Goblins.
