As of today I vow never to bug Rachel about updating her LJ unless she fails to do so for more than a week, at which time I am perfectly entitled to be as annoying as I please.

Have just returned from a stroll that, while initially intended to be a quick trip to chew out the bank people, turned into a chew-out-the-bank-people-then-get-library-card-and-wander-around-type ramble. Yes indeedy, it is possible to amble. Yay for new discoveries! The evening was so lovely I couldn't bear to be inside doing anything "productive", so I just went for a walk and kept going. Nowhere special; just around the ville and the East side of campus a bit.

About the library card thing: I signed up for one, so at some point I may actually borrow something from the Wellesley Free Library. *cough*Alfred Noyes*cough* I also indulged in some browsing of Sci-Fi shelves, which resulted in my picking up several books and finally tearing myself away from Patricia McKillip's Song for the Basilisk. *joyful sigh* I must read more of her before I finish it, because from the first chapter alone it's the best I've read since Riddle-Master. Of course, I still have a few to go before then, and I have a great and pure love for Riddle-Master; so I reserve the right to throw up my hands in defeat and proclaim them all fabulous beyond mere words. Also ran across The Neverending Story. I blame Rachel for that, but in a good way. ;)

hush, hush
it's time to be sleeping,
hush, hush
dreams come a-creeping,
dreams of
peace and freedom,
so smile in your sleep
bonny baby
...

oh, hush now
anchors away
don't cry in your sleep
bonny baby

hush, hush

do i get a prize?

i finally found your lj and caught up. yay for daily fiona witticisms. now write something funny.
i find myself really wanting a livejournal - not because i need yet another form of procrastination, or because i've changed my mind about it being an unforgivably navel-gazing form of self-expression (i haven't changed my mind, but that opinion only applies to the case of my getting a livejournal, for anyone else i don't care), and not even because i would ever post if i got one, because i wouldn't and everyone would always be yelling at me to update - no, i just want an icon so i don't have to have all my messages be from "anonymous" sans pretty picture.
it really was pretty this evening, i agree. i sat and watched the sun set, and it took about a half hour of sitting outside on a hill before i got cold enough that i was forced to go inside. hopefully we are seeing the beginning signs of spring...and not just a peaceful warm lull before more snow and ice...

Oooh, Wellesley Free Library. I love it there. They have such a nice section of completely non-academic books. It makes me happy.

Just another coincidence?

I think not. Again, we see the HP connections... Ooh.

I'm not looking too hard, am I?
