I LOATHED the Fixer-Upper song. That whole sequence feels like somebody in a suit said, "Hey, we need another cutesy song and we've focused too much on the ladies in their own movie, let's awkwardly shoehorn in a song-and-dance about a dude, never mind that it stops the narrative momentum cold just when one of our heroines is ON A TIME-SENSITIVE MORTAL PERIL SCHEDULE HERE." That scene should be excised and BURNED. WITH FIRE.

How the whole "act of true love" thing played out, though? THAT WAS AWESOME. *feelings*

I spent most of Young Americans wanting to punch the English teacher, but it had its good points. Mostly it made me want to re-read The Raven Boys, which is a considerably more sophisticated treatment of privilege, with bonus magic stuff (though less cross-dressing, unless Book 3 or 4 has an extra surprise).

Meeting the ladies of the oracle was fun! They were hilarious, as you'd expect. I'll send you the picture we took.

I thought the Veronica Mars movie was worth seeing! Kind of like a two-hour episode, which is a good thing. It'll be better if you've seen the whole series, even season 3, though there is a Helpful Voiceover Recap at the beginning and a tiny reference to the 12-minute Season 4 episode.

Miss you too!
