There can be no doubt that the three definite articles are a pain. But at least if you have the article you can tell almost instantly whether the noun is m, f, or n, instead of having to look at everything else in the sentence to figure it out. Of course, when we get to reading actual stuff it'll probably be much, much more difficult.
