All of it was in reference to (mostly bad, but quite a lot of good) fics whose authors don't know Latin or anybody who does. JKR also uses Greek, or at least Latin words that are clearly derived from Greek. But she uses mostly verbs that actually make sense for effecting changes or transformations, whereas a lot of people keep trying to use words like "go" or "be", which is really annoying. /Latintalk
