I've been gone a while. Sorry about that. I'm afraid my heart just hasn't been in Things Various and LJ lately.

First I had the hacking cold of doom No. 2, and then my valiant Anaxagoras died a sad computerly death, and then I went home for a while, and now the internet connection here is a bit unreliable. Seems like every time I go home it gets harder to leave. This time of year, you can smell the growing things in the warm night air blast when you step outside the airport. All the normal existential suckiness of April seems to have bled into May, too, which is Not Helping.

But New York does have its compensations. I bought a pair of awesome shoes last week. And thanks to the occasional and random fantastic of the public library, I have the seventh season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer on hand. So it's not all woe and smashed cupcakes.

Okay, I really want cupcakes now. Note to self: don't start writing about cupcakes in the middle of the night. Really.

Oh believe me, it will be. If you thought Buffy was angsty before, you ain't seen nothing yet. Well, if you haven't seen the seventh season. I suppose you could be rewatching, although why you'd want to rewatch that season is beyond me.

Oh, there's the usual Buffy awesomeness, but ANGST ANGST ANGST EEK EEK EEK. Bad stuff, that last one.

And not enough Giles, by far.

glad you enjoyed home. there's always something nice about home. i think it's because you can totally be yourself & not worry about stuff like other people & their stuff. :)

must see pair of awesome shoes in the near future. & just thinking about it, when do you start the summer portion of the job? must arrange times for get-togetherness & ship tour which is coming up. & still haven't gotten a dress for the wedding. found a nice one, but it was so NOT worth the price tag. grr... so a mall day we shall have.

anywho, glad to see you back on lj since your posts are always much fun. :D

Oh, I love my Buffy angst like I love... well, actually like nothing else. It's a category unto itself.

Oddly enough it's the only season the library has. I've seen all of 1-4(?) and bits of 5 and 6, so I have a pretty good idea of what's been going on. But I especially want to watch the musical episode again.

Having seen the first two discs, I agree with you: needs more Giles.

You definitely must see the shoes, although probably not during the ship tour because clambering around in heels is not a skill I've mastered. (They have heels. Yes. This is new for me.)

Definitely we must have a mall day, and soon! The summer portion starts June 9, and I desperately need some more Respectable Garments. And you must have a dress.

Girl, you can come visit me and gorge yourself on Buffy anytime. I have all except the first two seasons; I really, really hate Angel, and there's just too damn much of him as some kind of perfect guy in those first two. Although season 2 does have some awesome episodes. But the later seasons are just better. You need to see all of 5 and 6. And I mean all. Awesomeness. Did you see the end of season 5 where they're all running from the Knights of Byzantium in an RV? Course, Giles gets a spear in the chest, but still...

Apparently Tony Head wanted more time with his family, so he asked the producers towards the middle of season 6 to kind of phase him out. But then he's around more towards the end of 7, although it's not necessarily a good thing for him and Buffy...

Ok, no spoiling. Sorry.

I would love to visit you! I'll be working full-time soon, but I'm sure there's a way to make this happen...

Wahhhh, Giles! I think I may have actually seen part of that episode. It sort of rings a bell. And I'm not too fond of Angel myself.

I just got the final two DVDs for seasons 7 and 4. I was looking for 5 and 6, but the fact that the NYPL doesn't alphabetize its books, much less its video collection, should tell you something...
