I think it's "gypped", actually. And yeah- as long as the ending makes sense in terms of the rest of the story, I'll take it. I'd prefer an ambiguous or sad ending that's organic to the story over a fake, manufactured happy one. (I love the end of Death Note 3, for example.) Good happy endings are best, of course! :)
