Papers are done! Finals end today! This means... I must be rushing across the country. I hate air travel, but I actually quite like airports. They make me bouncy and friendly. I realize now that the reason nobody in airports ever asks me if I’m high is that some people are just like this naturally. Hmmm. But there’s just something about them that makes me happy and smiley. The gray carpets! The uniformed people milling around being determinedly nice to bitchy customers! The overpriced food!

Oooh, the food. I had a Greek yogurt just now that tasted just like Mountain High yogurt and nothing like actual Greek yogurt. This is not a problem, because I like Mountain High yogurt. I’m just saying, for $3.19 a container... Hey, there’s a Dunkin’ Donuts over there! I wonder if donuts are more expensive too? Hey, I should find out! I should go find out right now! Yosh!

SOME DONUT GUY: No, our donuts are not more expensive here, why?
ME: You lie! I bought a donut last week for 91 cents! These are exorbitantly overpriced!
SOME DONUT GUY: by... four cents?
ME: Four cents is a lot to some people, okay? It could be the difference between a large chai latte and settling for a medium one! *getting excited* It could be the difference between chai and no chai at all! It could be--
SOME DONUT GUY: Are you high?
ME: ...Possibly.

(No, I did not actually go ask Some Donut Guy about donut prices and then accuse him of cheating people out of large chai lattes. Nor did Some Donut Guy accuse me of being high. But if I had, and he had, it would probably have sounded like that.)

Oooh, my fingers are constantly in motion. Twitchety-twitch. Perhaps all the chai lattes I have drunk this week have accumulated and I am in fact high on caffeine. That would explain a lot. Along with the adrenaline and the lack of sleep. Perhaps my love for airports is partly due to the fact that I’m inevitably sleep-deprived and dehydrated and high on finals and chai when I get to them. Hmmm. That would explain a lot.

I was poking around the newsstand as usual and saw not one but two editions of Twilight. I briefly considered buying the non-movie-cover one, but I don’t think they take credit cards and the stupid CharlieCard machine ate most of my cash because it wasn’t taking credit cards either.

It’s probably for the best. I don’t think my brain could take hilarious dialog and sparkly vampires right now anyway. (Actually I’m probably precisely in the right state to experience said sparkle, but then I would spend the whole time giggling and airport security would think I really was high. Oh well.)

I’m pretty excited about this trip, because I have a really long layover in JFK, and my new iPod has video capabilities so I have some random stuff and also all the episodes of Kurosagi to watch.

NOOOOOO my Titan A.E. soundtrack did not survive the trip from Ax to Ovid! And I have “Not Quite Paradise” stuck in my head! NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh well. *worried* I hope Kurosagi plus random stuff will be enough to sustain me. Damn it, I knew I should have downloaded Legend. Well, at least I’ll have access to my dad’s Kurosawa collection. Actual plot and cinematography will have to substitute for pretty and crack.

Later, in JFK...
OOOOOH SHINY NEW JETBLUE TERMINAL. It’s... it’s like a spaceport in here, is what it is. It’s all white and neon and there’s a fluorescent blue sports bar over there next to the Borders, and there’s a fluorescent red bar over there with what looks like a large screen TV with some black and white movie playing, I can’t quite tell... is that James Stewart getting into a bar fight? There’s a circular thing with screens hanging from the ceiling and an elevated seating area and other tables and free wireless and I THINK I MIGHT BE DREAMING, YOU GUYS.

JAMBA JUUUUUUUICE

Yes, they also have Cheeburger Cheeburger.

Meanwhile, I’m eyeing the stacks of Twilight in the Borders. On the one hand, nobody here knows me or will probably ever see me again. I’m completely anonymous. Sort of. On the other hand, nobody here knows me. They might not instantly assume that I’m reading it for the sheer lulz. Hmmm. Decisions, decisions...

Aw, you should have told us you'd be at JFK for so long! We could have picked you up and brought you home to have a nice visit with Blue. And with EdajAram's shoes...

I like Schipol in Amsterdam. Massive, and very nice to wait around in. Very spacious with loads of big windows.
