Hadn't heard of Masha. hadn't heard of Heartsinger either, but I'd definitely like to read it.
YAAAAY!! Curse of Chalion! I was somewhat backwards about it, but it's what I like to consider my first LMB experience. one summer in my late teens I picked up Shards of Honor because of some inter-author-friendships connection, and I enjoyed it, but it didn't inspire me to run out and get the next one. (obviously, the trouble was reading SoH as the world entry instead of starting with Miles and tWA, but I didn't know that!) but then in college my friends were always telling me how awesome LMB was, so I bought The Curse of Chalion and fell head over heels, and gulped 'em all down. ^_^ gods I ADORE that book. (we could now jump around using superlatives for all of her books, but you know what I'm saying *g*)
1) Bella is so empty that she makes a really good reader proxy; 2) Edward (as has been said before and not by me) has no personality; ...Actually, the book kind of reminded me of Elsie Dinsmore somehow.
hahaha
The movie was SO MUCH much better, I don’t even have words for it.
really? *perks up* I'll rent it when it comes out on dvd. my friend/coworker Alice has a daughter who's 16 and in love with the Twilight series, and they had plans to go see the film in theaters again this weekend. *g* I've read the first two books, must read the 3rd and 4th to complete the experience. I find them really fun to read while I'm reading them, and then I come out on the other side and wonder what kind of trip I was on... ;P
I have the first Lymond book and I hope to read it very soon. I have big ambitions to be a Good Reader this year.
I had a concert I really wanted to go to this Friday (The Outside Track**), but my stretch of days from last weekend through yesterday midday was horrendous and unhappy, so I've been lying about comatose in the evenings. must shake my bones and get out and about.
**go here and click on "Thaney" and you'll see what I'm in love with. I'll have to buy their cd.
