... in Greece, that is. Not very long, but I'm bothering with a cut-tag anyway.

The final hours in Athens were spent in tramping around the Plaka district, map in hand, in search of the Ancient Agora. It was found in due time, and Mum and I happily clambered over piles of ancient rubble and along grass-grown paths. We found Socrates' alleged hangout, where he stood interrogating people. It (or what's left of it) seemed a likely spot indeed for the corruption of the young. It was inhabited that morning, not by a crowd of philosopher-wannabes (unless you count me), but by a lone black cat who launched herself at us with the friendly determination of a juggernaut. Aside from the amicable feline and a few other early risers, however, the entire marketplace was virtually deserted. Bill and Ted's assessment, namely that "there were many steps and columns. It was most tranquil," was not far from the mark.

In other news, The Adventures of Goat-Girl and Harry in its completed form is coming soon. Melanie may be the only one who actually cares about that, but the rest of you will have to suffer through it anyway.
