your daily dose of Princess Bride misquotage

“Haha, you fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous is ‘Never get involved in a sea war against the Romans, ‘cause they’ll just find a couple of really big planks and turn it into a land war.’ But only slightly less well known is this: ‘Never go in against a classics major when dubious sexuality of any kind is on the line!’”

Sorry. Had to get that out of my system. Obviously I cannot blurt it out in front of an entire children's literature conference later this week, so you're stuck with it instead. Move it along, nothing else to see here.

At least not until next time, when I take Roswell to task for epic fail.

Probably not. But since you asked...

Apparently I have a pet peeve about people blithely failing to contextualize their well-meaning, general assertions about ancient Greek sexuality.

And nobody notices until the token classics major points it out.

I've been away, else I would have told you I love you for this earlier.

Ahaha, thank you. I know how well you understand my pain.

Bwah hah hah!

This is just me expressing pure enjoyment of that statement even without context, despite the coincidence of appearing like a continuing Vizzini reference...

Glad I amuse you! Continuous Vizzini references are always welcome. :)
