Time to break out the Summer Shenanigans icon again.

Last week: [livejournal.com profile] cadragongirl valiantly accompanied me on a dress-hunting expedition in preparation for a wedding. Or at least Suitable Cardigan-hunting. Window-shopping at Anthropologie first was a big mistake, because every dress afterwards was badly cut, or of a terrible fabric, or of a hideous color. Apparently I yearn for bodices that fit, and cream cotton skirts that seem like they’re full of lace, as Mary Lennox would say. *cries*

On the way home, though, we stopped at the tiny Japanese grocery store, conbini really, on Newbury street, and THEY HAVE ENERGY JELLY. ^___^ ENERGY JELLY MY LOOOOOOVE ♥♥♥♥♥

Left to my own devices over the weekend, I wound up at the Museum of Fine Arts. I found the Japanese Garden, as I have been meaning to, and read the Explanatory Board Thing which explained that it was supposedly landscaped to represent mountains and ocean in gravel. I went in, saw the granite bridges spanning two rocks, and promptly said, “Ah, of course. Amenohashidate.”

Inside the museum, the Big Special Exhibit was actually free and turned out to be an Egyptian governor’s tomb, which was pretty cool. There was an entire wall and display case devoted to his model ship collection. And the paintings on the various coffin lids were stunning. I couldn’t stop staring at all the different kinds of birds, tiny and perfect with their blue and white brush-strokes.

Found my way into the inner garden courtyard thing, at last. I foresee many hours spent there with a Greek dictionary and possibly some contraband chai, until I actually get a job.

There was also a special exhibit of tattoos in art in the Japanese Print room. I wandered around, very quietly humming DBSK, which was perhaps not quite the point. I’ve got you-uuuu under my skin.

Even further off the point, I don’t even have the song and I know it. What is up with that.

eta: Okay, I do have it, it’s just not called “Under My Skin.” WHATEVER, IT SHOULD BE, OKAY. XD

Oh boy. Energy jelly. I bet the shop clerk hasn't had any customers come in and flail all over just because of THAT. XD

Sounds like awesome times. I'd say I'm jealous, and I SORT of am, but... well. XD

$4.50. Which isn't as bad as it could be, I guess. I thought about it, but decided to wait. Some time, though~
