Ooh, if I lived in San Francisco, I'd skewer the Chronicle's feature movie reviewer! And then I'd barbecue him. And then I'd think of something really, really painful. A Vogon poetry reading, for example. (This is not a real threat, btw, just in case any paranoid nosy law enforcement people are snooping around my LJ. Ahem. Back to ranting.) It's a good thing I saw the movie before I saw the review, and that I've seen it now, otherwise I'd be threatening somebody else who doesn't deserve it. The moron has clearly never bothered to read the book and obviously wasn't paying attention during the movie itself. Hah! The Chronicle is going to be pelted with Howlers.... er, whups, I mean, very annoyed letters from people like me who bother to write to the editor about stuff like that. I can't wait to see the carnage! Pass the Omnioculars, will you?

All I shall say regarding THAT movie is that THAT is a Movie.

i'd take it that you liked PoA & that the reviewer didn't? :)

More like he had no clue what he was talking about.

Hm. I haven't seen the movie yet (I know, I know, shame), but I listened to the reviewer on NPR who said it was fantastic and finally accopmplished whta the other movies could not and captured the Harry Potter spirit of magic that made the books so popular. So I'm all psyched about the movie without any of those misgivings about being biased.

Yeah, I heard bits of the NPR review too. The guy wasn't kidding, although he could have sounded a little more enthusiastic. But the movie... it's beautiful. In so many ways. Especially the ones that really matter when you're trying to make a film like that. *happiness*

No time, no time... still in Edinburgh, but...

Totally saw the movie on the FIRST. Hah! And Oh. My. Goodness. *squeeeeeeee!!!!*

How I wish we could have seen it together. I totally miss you on this trip. I keep seeing things and being all like "I wish Fiona was here." :P BAH. I have no one who understands the things I squee over. So sad.

OH. And I'll go on and on about this on my own LJ when I get back, but you know that bridge that the Hogwarts Express goes over? WE WENT OVER IT!!! Was soooooo very cool. But we were five days too early to ride the actual steam engine. Although I saw it go by on the bus ride today. Stupid camera didn't wake up in time to take a picture though. :( Anyway, wheeeeeee. I'll be home in a few days. Am SO going through internet withdrawal. Meep.

Gotta run now. Need to make sure that my relatives are picking us up from the airport in Dublin. Plus this keyboard is irritating. Talk to you soon. Bye!
