Oh, my!

We-ell. Just finished watching some sort of miniseries entitled Tales of the City with my dad, the cats, and Rerun (the dog). Tis about some very random, mostly strange people connected a la Love Actually in San Francisco in the 1970's. Yup. Don't know when it was made (I suspect the early '80's), but it featured a lot of people who became really, really famous later on. It explains so much! Some of which I could have done without knowing, to be sure, but still. (Rachel: that fic makes much more sense now!) It was really cool watching it with my dad, who explained all the references and Bay Area significances that I didn't understand. I did, however, cotton onto the rampant cocaine useage and disco music without assistance. Ah, San Francisco, how I adore thee, in principle at least. It's nice enough in person, but dreadfully infested with tourists.

My one annual sunburn is apparently not limited to the singular after all, at least as concerns my back. *reaches for lotion* I kid you not, Melanie. Bring copious amounts of lotion and chapstick.

Have rediscovered more Shetland-type tunes, and am learning a few. Am considering learning an American tune or two as well, just in case. One never knows. The search for "Jerusalem's Ridge" continues unsuccessfully, so if anybody finds it, let me know! I think I've reconstructed the A part and some of the B part, but that's about it. *sigh* Must abandon my faithful readers now, as sleep calls. Am sure to be awakened early to go see the horse, and I will muck, feed, and defend my title as Mustardsbane.

thanx. will keep in mind. in the meantime, am being eaten alive by the horrible amount of mosquitos out here in the cape area. must remember to bug spray everytime i go out. :(

& have remembered name of sea shanty - something about ramso the sailor. one of the refrains goes: ramso, me boy, ramso. ramso being the name of this tailor from new york who goes & travels as a sailor on a whaling ship. very nice. our captain will be teaching us much more as we go, so will have to write them all down as i go. :)

Fantastic! We will have sea shanties in addition to the Happy Girl, the Cool Girl, and the Dead Girl. Perhaps "Captain Jack" can bridge the gap, it being about a girl unlucky in love. I can't wait to hear the rest of the adventures of Ramso!
