Coherent? NOT REALLY. XD We saw him being escorted over to the Classics section and a bunch of us quietly freaked out. We sort of hovered as he paid for his books, and my level-headed friend M. mentioned that she and I had been reading his book North the other day. I nodded in a hopefully-not-terrifying manner and added that we kept reading bits aloud over our pie.
He was delightful and amiable and undismayed (he's probably used to lots of attention from bookish young ladies).
After he left, my tiniest, most adorable colleague (t.m.a.c.) said "I feel like I just met Gandalf!" which I thought summed it up rather well.
Ha, Jesse is babysitting Neil Gaiman on Thursdsay. Rachel is dying of jealousy. I told her to call Jesse's cell and ask to speak to him! But of course, she wouldn't have anything coherent to say either... I hope Jesse can come up with something! LOL
Ahahaha, what fun. I think the one time I met Neil Gaiman I said something about the paper I was writing about Sandman. He seemed pleased (this was six or seven years ago and comics were a lot less academically acceptable), and also in need of some vitamin D.
Thursday is quite the literary luminary day--I'll be shepherding Kristin Cashore for a bit! She's turned into a Real Person rather than an OMG AUTHOR, and I'm really looking forward to her talk about Bitterblue.

As opposed to what would probably come out of my mouth, which is "oh my God i think you're brilliant will you write me a poem"
