So, Ashland and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival! *bounces* Way cool, as always.
Tuesday
- Me: *zzzz*
Later... Whee! Henry VI, Part I in the New Theatre, formerly the Black Swan Theatre but re-built and re-named with good plain hobbit-sense. Joan La Pucelle was some serious girl-power. Although I thought she was burned by the French, not the English.
Wednesday morning
- Me: *zzzz*, walks, makes designs on painkiller bottle, walks into town from B&B, drools over aforementioned dresses.
Wednesday afternoon
- Me: "What was that play about?"
Later that afternoon...
The Green Show. French period dance music interpreted by modern dancers. My dad and I were befriended by a golden retriever named Bella, who was sitting directly behind us on the lawn. Best part of the afternoon!
That evening... Henry VI, Parts II & III
- Me: "Dude. Queen Margaret is totally kick-ass."
Three hours later...
- Me: "Richard of Gloucester! That unspeakable ... uh... *hunts for appropriate insult* ... you know, somehow I don't think calling him a beslubbering tardy-gaited measle really does him justice, the slimeball."
And now we're back, and I'm sitting around vainly trying to clean my room in hopes that a bookshelf will fit in the corner. I seem to have acquired a certain number of books which no longer fit in my other bookcase. Besides which, courtesy of my mother's impulsive visit to the video rental store, I have watched Miracle and Nicholas Nickleby over the course of the past two evenings. The latter was most confusing; I wasn't sure whether to feel all protective or do some clandestine drooling. Ah well. One can do both, I suppose.

Date: 2004-07-23 03:01 pm (UTC)siena update (since i have no livejournal of my own and i know you're really interested, right?): i got absolutely no work done today because i was mad at my computer. i suck. now i'm going to have to work tomorrow, and tomorrow was supposed to be my day off :( i just got so frustrated - excel won't open because i canceled a download halfway through (for more details, see the computing conference. yeah, it's that bad) and then my computer mouse went all wonkey when i was trying to search for a way to fix it and that was the last straw so i went to drown my sorrows in fanfic, community, and the nytimes. instead of working. but now i'm going to go home and cook veggie chile from the moosewood cookbook, and watch a fred astaire and ginger rogers movie :) and possibly play some fiddle..? i'll see. do you remember that march we learned second semester - i think we put it at the beginning of the long set. it's really been growing on me, i've been playing it every time i pick up my fiddle. which wouldn't be weird, except i didn't really used to like it.
good luck with that bookcase :)

Date: 2004-07-23 06:05 pm (UTC)Henry rocks. Although there are four of them (technically five, I guess, although I don't think Henry VII gets his own play). I really, really love the Henry IV plays, but Henry V is the best of the ones I've seen (just because the king rocks. The Henry IVs are probably much funnier). That's what, seven plays? If you count Richard II and III, make that nine, because they're important in the Histories.
That's weird about the march - I'm still not wild about it. If it's growing on you, maybe there's hope for me.
