I *heart* Greece. Although not tour buses, especially if I'm on one. Greece was ... well, Greece. Athens was noisy, Mycenae has Agamemnon's palace foundations, Corinth has lots of birds and smells like trees, Delphi is way up on top of a mountain, Meteora is just... wow, and there are lots of goats. If you want more details, ask to read my diary. Or maybe I will post bits of it later, once I do some editing. What say y'all? *squints* I know you're out there!

Thanks to Rachel for the pretty re-vamped icon! My roomie is cool, and so are her computer programs that can make pretty animated icons.

And now, for your perusal, the first installment of Fiona's As-yet Untitled Memoirs:

My first impression of Greece, after an afternoon of clouds and spectacular (albeit currently anonymous) snow-capped mountains interspersed with random periods of unconsciousness, was of clusters and threads of light amid large spaces of darkness. There were broad, flat plains of seeming nothingness, and there were lone dark hills crowned with lights like a tiara of bulbs on an electric chandelier.

My second thought was, "I wonder if 'zoographou' still means what I think it did three thousand years ago." I shall have to find out what relevance a painter in the genitive singular has to a designated camping site.
