catch a wave and you're sittin' on top of the world

Oh yeah. WHO bought the Abridged Liddell & Scott Greek-English Lexicon today?

And is it hardback, you ask, made of nice dark red knobbly material with gold stamped on the spine and thin, pleasantly yellowed pages? Why yes, yes it is. The latest date I can find anywhere on the title page is 1926. It is heavy, cumbersome, probably hopelessly out-of-date, and it is MINE. ALL MINE.

5 pounds ($10, for the non-GBP-initiated), my friends. Life is beautiful.

(i had to delete my first comment as it didn't put the icon i selected, but one that was most misleading as to my mood)

Well, I'm very glad you did. I like this icon.

Whoa. That's impressive. That'd be like finding it for $5, here.

I love finds like that :)

I love books with physical substance!

The exchange rate is very good for us, but not so good for you unfortunately (for you!) *g*

Yah, don't I know. I'm consoling myself with the thought that, even with my exchange program's fees, I'm still paying less than I would for a semester at Wellesley, and I'm getting invaluable life experience to boot.

Besides, Scotland is gorgeous. Worth the crappy exchange rate.

And so she shall! It shall occupy a place of honor in my new abode, wherever that turns out to be, and you can all drop by and admire it. ;)
