Oh no. This is not good. No, it's not good at all. I now have the image of Herakles stuck in my head, his epically beautiful golden hair in a perky ponytail, bouncing along some epic path carrying a tree slung over his shoulder and singing "I want to be a macho man", sounding just like Buffy in that one episode.

Thank Zeus this paper is due tomorrow. I'm going to bed before I can mutilate it any further.

*wipes tears from eyes* Fiona, your imagination never ceases to amuse me, especially when it actively seeks out randomness. Great episode, that. "Witch," from the first season. I love it, not only because of the magical freakiness, but because Giles goes all hero and saves the day, and then he's all humble about it, and Buffy says something like: "Are you kidding? You saved my life. You're a god!" And I'm just like, yep, got that right. And of course, that's the episode where you first get the feeling that she's pretty special to him, because he goes all desperate and gentle when she's dying from the curse. *squee*

And now I got all inspired and made this icon, which has a quote from a season 4 episode, "Where the Wild Things Are," where Giles has a gig at the Espresso Pump and the gang (minus Buffy and Riley, who are 'in trouble') runs to him for help and is dumbstruck by his musical skills (Willow and Anya drool- figuratively, Tara looks impressed and Xander is very, very scared). And then the next scene, when they're researching, goes like this:

GILES: When you called to Buffy and Riley, they didn't cry out or, or respond in any way?
ANYA: (bored) No. They're probably dead.
XANDER: Unless they're too busy doin' it to answer.
GILES: Doing what?
XANDER: You know, for a god of acoustic rock, you're ... kind of naive.
GILES: (rolls his eyes) I didn't think you meant ... In the midst of all that, do you really think they were keeping it up?
(Everyone looks at him.)
GILES: Oh, for a different phrasing.

Ah yes, "Witch". Good episode. And I love your Giles icon! Perhaps if we're very, very dedicated in our Buffy-watching, the Buffy-watching trio will make it through Season 4 this year. I want to see Giles the god of acoustic rock!

Ha, who doesn't? And who's the Buffy-watching trio?

That would be the unholy combination of Siena, Rachel, and yours truly. Good times!

Ah, we MUST be dedicated. We can even get to... well.. no. Never mind. But anyway, "Poor Fiona."

*has fulfilled obligation*

Also, I'm missing the reference, but you forget, I have only seen up to most-of-the-way-through season 2. :P And a few scattered other ones here and there, which I never get, since they're from like, much later seasons and I just don't have the background. But anyway again, Buffy. Yay. Can't wait. :D

See, was that so difficult? ;P

You so did see that episode. It's, like, in the first season. The one where Buffy tries out for the cheerleading squad, and this other wannabe-cheerleader-girl and her mother switch bodies because the mother wants to re-live her cheerleading days, and ends up getting trapped in her own trophy in the school trophy display cabinet after she has a go at Buffy with the emergency hatchet ...

Oh, YEAH. I remember that one. *l* Psycho witch-lady dudette. Anyway, I don't remember the quote. But fun episode. *l*

It's when she bounces down the stairs and is all perky and cheerleader-y and in a good mood, and her mom's surprised. Anyway. It's funny there because Buffy is, at first glance from one not in on the vampire-fun, anything but a macho man. It's funny here because Herakles is the definitive macho man.

It was a fun episode, wasn't it.

yay buffy!!!!

that's all i have to say.

we WILL make it through...many many episodes next semester.

and i was going to tell fiona this, but she abruptly left the chat. so i will say it here instead:
i just found out that professor lynch, who teaches my arthurian legends course next semester, is a buffy fan. yes. they spent much of one her last beoulf classes discussing tabula rasa (season 6 episode...#7 i believe. 6.7) and a third of their class wrote their final papers on buffy.

*drool*

...guess who. (aka the third part of that trio)
