in which I have a lot of feelings

Hello my darlings, I did not mean to be so long away. I have been having ADVENTURES and also being busy. Which is better than being not-busy. I have read several terrible books and a few good books and binge-watched a lot of television (
a4yroldfaerie, when you told me of Young Americans the first time why did you not tell me that Bella was AWESOME?).
For Valentine's Day I winged out my eyeliner and dressed in fuschia and Swarovski and went to hear Dvorak's Symphony from the New World. The performance was excellent and the program notes were snarky.
In early March, I went to KPOPCON to hear Javabeans and Girlfriday talking about idols in dramas.
For St Patrick's Day, I finally bestirred myself to go see Frozen, and you know what, I have A LOT OF FEELINGS ABOUT IT. Despite its massive narrative problems, I spent most of the screening with tears of joy running down my face. I am not exaggerating even a little bit. There were actual tears. ON MY FACE.
Finally, I convinced some friends to see the Veronica Mars movie with me last night. IT TURNS OUT I HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS ABOUT THIS ALSO. I came home and lay on the floor with the expectation that the feelings would recede to a manageable level. They did not. The ONE THING that would have made it possible for SPOILER and SPOILER to finally SPOILER ACTUALLY HAPPENED ;ALSDJFLASKF;ALSKJFAL;KJDFAL;DKJA;DJKSF I cannot deal. I feel kind of like
snowqueenofhoth after seeing Revenge of the Sith, only less SPOILER and more SPOILER.
It didn't work the first time, but I am so overwhelmed with feels that I think I will try this floor thing again. Dvorak is not helping either, because as it turns out, I have feelings about that too.

Date: 2014-03-30 02:28 pm (UTC)And lol, oh right. Revenge of the Sith. ALL THE FEELINGS. I've never rewatched it, actually. Because it just destroyed my heart. And I think honestly after reading all these books and watching the Clone Wars cartoons and just... it would be SO MUCH WORSE now. But I probably should at some point.
Also, eyeliner and Swarovski. Whooo~ :D

Date: 2014-04-01 02:21 am (UTC)Young Americans! i don't know anyone else who watched that show.
i'm rather jealous you went to the kpopcon & got to meet the lovely ladies of the oracle. how was it? do tell. apparently they're doing a meet-up in the old stomping grounds & of course it happens after i move away. everything happens when i move away. i seriously have the worst luck when it comes to these things. T_T
i have been intrigued by the Veronica Mars movie trailer & i know you were a big fan of the series, so is it actually worth going to see, or should i just stick with the series? not like i don't have too much to do as it is & a to-watch/read list that keeps on growing, but if it is worth it, i just might bump it up...
btw, i still refuse to see Revenge of the Sith. i mean, we all know what happens & it ain't anything pretty. not to mention all the continuity issues that people have told me about. i like to pretend it doesn't exist, kind of like that 4th Indiana Jones, which was kind of innocuous, but still. to me, that series ends with Indy catching up to Marcus Brody while riding off into the sunset, and nobody will convince me otherwise.
miss you & snowqueenofhoth as well.

Date: 2014-04-01 05:32 am (UTC)How the whole "act of true love" thing played out, though? THAT WAS AWESOME. *feelings*
I spent most of Young Americans wanting to punch the English teacher, but it had its good points. Mostly it made me want to re-read The Raven Boys, which is a considerably more sophisticated treatment of privilege, with bonus magic stuff (though less cross-dressing, unless Book 3 or 4 has an extra surprise).
Meeting the ladies of the oracle was fun! They were hilarious, as you'd expect. I'll send you the picture we took.
I thought the Veronica Mars movie was worth seeing! Kind of like a two-hour episode, which is a good thing. It'll be better if you've seen the whole series, even season 3, though there is a Helpful Voiceover Recap at the beginning and a tiny reference to the 12-minute Season 4 episode.
Miss you too!
