this is the song of the sword of alan

Am safely in Kate-and-Kate's-dogs-land after a week of mosquitoes, fiddling, mosquitoes, fiddling, and mosquitoes. Oh, and did I mention the mosquitoes? Finally learned a fabulous tune I'd heard in St Andrews called "Bulgarian Red", just in time for GoF movie dorkiness. Go me! Also learned a rather dirty song, read Robert Louis Stevenson, was v. amused by the things of a personal nature one's roommates will say when they think one is asleep. iTalk invaluable, though not for the purposes of recording said amusing things of a personal nature. Scottish accents abounded - one instructor was from Tiree, another from Aberdeen - and I met the first Fiddleheads instructor (Californian and fabulous)! And Kate's beloved dogs! And bought CDs (my parents will thank me later)!

Also, there has been Fruits Basket. And Firefly. And RotK. And I've met the human soundtrack of Chez Kate. And learned a card game. And had book after book heaped upon me to the tune of an enthusiastic "Read this!". And fudge.

Off to the Cape tomorrow. Whee!

Excellent! Glasg you enjoyed it. The best times of my life were are week long music courses, specifically, West Of Scotland School Concert Band at Ardentinny, which is a lovely outdoor centre in the middle of nowhere up from Dunoon on the Argyle peninsula. There were midges, but sometimes it was so warm we could have sectionals outdoors :).
