The BCMFest Post

BCMFest was much fun, for reasons including but not limited to the following:
- all the cool performers
- impromptu time-filler performances
- the benefits of volunteering
- seeing people from the Boston Harbor camp
- burritos for lunch AND dinner
- recruiting people to the Great Burrito Appreciation Society
- the presence of all the people who have ever been Fiddleheads instructors (okay, so that's only three people. Whatever. It was still cool.)
- baby Antoine (so adorable!)
- afterparty and sessions
- sessions
- music EVERYWHERE

Cow construction for Into the Woods has begun and continues apace. Luckily I have mad chickenwire skillz. The rest of my efforts have consisted mostly of running errands and painting lima beans with glittery nail polish.

did Rachel make that icon?

so, from when to when did you go/volunteer to/for the BCM fest?

when is Into the Woods being put on, and who's doing it?

Rachel took the photo a couple of years ago, and I dug it up and stuck it in Word this morning and clicked a button and did a couple more things and turned into an icon all by myself! It does look like one of her photo drawings, doesn't it? I just thought, "I need a fiddle icon".

I arrived in Cambridge on the 9 am bus and stayed all day, volunteering late afternoon helping take down sound equipment and set up stuff for the evening concert. We got back from the afterparty at 3:30 or so, thanks to Rachel's driving in Wintry Mix skillz.

Upstage is doing Into the Woods, happening early February, I think. Whee!

What's BCM? Is it the same as BCM International that has Eric Whitacre are one of it's composers? I love his work for wind band.

I don't think so, although the BCMFest CD is mentioned on the page from the link. The Boston Celtic Music Festival was started three years ago by... um, some people, not all of whom I know. bcmfest.com has more info. Much fun, and great musicians and mentors.

Ah, I see! I noticed the cross reference, by it must just be an alphabetical coincidence. It's Celtic Connections here just now, a big Celtic music festival.

Ooh, I love your new icon. Shiny! :D

I've got to make more of those things, now that I can practice doing them digitally. ;)

And hurrah for BCMFest. And music. And lima beans. *g*
