It is snowing, and it is beautiful. The last time it snowed this much, I was in the MFA trying to write an article on the Monet special exhibit. It is nice to be able to stare at the prettiness from the comfort of my own room, rather than while running around MIT with no previous experience and no map. You know why the simile is always petals falling like snow rather than snow falling like petals? Because nowhere in the world are there this many petals, that's why.

Of course, I have to say something about Greek too. So: Just when I start getting frustrated with Euripides, he says stuff that I have roughly translated as "Women ought to stick together".

Also, there is a word for "gushing from the throat".

Heraclitus! Heraclitus "One does and does not step twice into the same river" the Obscure! *prances madly* I like most of the other Presocratics' worldviews better, but Heraclitus has attitude. He is, as you say, into fire. What fun! (The Presocratics are, hopefully, my ticket into somewhere interesting. If only I could write this stupid statement of purpose I meant to write over Wintersession.) Many congratulations on Oxford, btw. How long will you be there?

I'm reading Helen under the guidance of an enthusiastic Kate Gilhuly. Luckily there are actually three other people in the class, so less pressure. It's much better than Lysias or *makes sign of warding off* Antiphon.
