Can anybody explain to me why I thought finishing 1 Litre of Tears would be a great way to take a break from my paper?

OMG so depressing.

On plus side, I still find lab coats inexplicably awesome.

hmmm, let's see - sounds like your typical korean drama, but since you tend to watch more of the japanese, i'll go with that. am i right? & betcha it involves some sort of love triangle, or square & that someone's got some sort of fatal, incurable disease (i'm guessing it's the lead girl). then, again, most asian dramas can be boiled down to this very cursory plot-summary. :)

Remarkably, there is no love triangle. But you're right about everything else. The special is totally pointless, but good to watch if you want to get all the important stuff without watching the rest of the episodes: it's basically a two-hour Best Moments.

1 Litre of Tears: Like What Katy Did, but with more boycrying and less recovering from immobilizing injuries/illnesses.

well, seeing as i never read (i'm assuming it's a book) what Katy Did, i have no idea what you're referring to.

on a totally unrelated note, when did you say you have spring break exactly? my brother is planning a possible trip up to visit friends in the brookline area & i was thinking about maybe tagging along to go look at possible churches. what do you think?

Oh, I will have to tell you about What Katy Did some time. Basically, 19th-century girl is too spirited and interesting! She is narratively required to break her back and lie immobilized for months while becoming an insufferably angelic inspirational figure. Then she gets better and stays insufferably docile and good. (See also: Alcott's Jack and Jill.)

I THINK YES. Let me go look up the exact dates... Officially it's March 9-13, but my last class is on the 4th and I don't have anything major due the week of the 16th.
