At the airport, and suspecting those five bites of Cinnabon were a bad idea.

Let’s see if I can do a temporal recap, because a thematic one is just not going to happen. So right after last time we checked in, I informed a bright-eyed incipient Harvard first-year that yes, Boston weather does indeed suck. Check. And then I stole an hour in the bookstore reading about vampire boybands. Check. It was good to hide out for an hour, to feel like myself again.

No, really, Sarah Rees Brennan's story in The Eternal Kiss is like SRB writes JE, with vampires! It's called "Undead Is Very Hot Right Now," and I highly recommend it.

On Friday we arrived at the barn to find the horse limping massively, as he's been doing on and off all summer. Luckily the barn owner was there and calmly listed our Vet Options and hooked up her truck and trailer to haul us down to the vet. Glory gave me one piteous look and hopped right in. They did all kinds of crazy x-rays and whatnot, and he was a good boy and just stood there and let them do whatever. They gave us like five kinds of meds and told us to come back in six weeks, and handwalk him a lot every day. So that’s mainly what I’ve been doing. I swear he kept kicking dust down the back of my shoes on purpose.

Saturday I guess it was, Mom and I went to see Julie & Julia (my dad patently refused). We got to the theatre about ten minutes before showtime and found a whole bunch of people lined up across the driveway. OH YEAH, BRILLIANT GUYS. They were sold out, so we bought tickets to the 4:00 show and went home. The movie was cute. I sort of felt like baking afterward, so a couple days later I made cookies. With butter, obviously. Lots of butter.

Tuesday night we went to see HP6 at the Art Noveau movie theatre downtown. I kept trying to get my dad to watch the Buffy vs Edward video on my iPod with no success, but we both snickered a lot at the New Moon trailer.

There’s a whole new crop of JE fish. A lot of them are kind of small and orange, so all those are named Toma, except the one that kept hanging around the filter, which is named Iida. The big white accidental koi is named either Yuki or Johnny, depending on which fandom the pond is on a given day. There are two little orange-and-white ones which are named Shuuichi and Hiro. One little orange one with a black spot on its tail is Shoon, and the one with the black band is Reon (yay fake fish kyoudai! I don’t know, they could be actually related). The big orange one with kind of under-the-skin dark patches on its back is Mitsu, and the big orange one with the white spinal line is Taipi. There are just enough dark ninja-fish now for A.B.C.-Z., although Jun-chan and the fish formerly known as Speckly Kawai were nowhere to be seen. And there are lots of others. I can't tell them apart, so they're all named Toma. For, um, convenience. Yup.

In conclusion: Airports airports airports! I love airports. And my parents' pond of goldfish.
