Because otherwise it would last forever.

This particular February has gone by a lot more quickly than some, probably due to INSANE PEOPLE GIVING ME INSANE AMOUNTS OF WORK DUE ALL AT ONCE THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH GRAD SCHOOL. I've even cut way back on my drama-watching this week.

Shocking, I know. But Sacrifices Must Be Made.

I like March better. It's pretty long too, but it has fun things in it like musical holidays and spring break and maybe even spring if we're lucky.

Really, really lucky.

Note to self: I should probably not try to "behold" The Arrival by Shaun Tan in the early hours of the morning, because the only coherent thought in my brain right now is "MEEBLE!!!!"

Mind you, that's the only coherent thought I have about that book a lot of the time. It really is just that awesome. Has anybody else read his shiny new Tales from Outer Suburbia yet? I have it and I think the level of sheer surreal awesome broke my brain.

Right, off to sleep. I need my strength for another day of hardcore competitive library-stalking.

Haven't read it yet--I thought it didn't come out for another month or so? Yesterday I read the couple of pages of preview available on amazon.co.uk, mistakenly thinking it had come out early enough to be eligible for this year's Hugos, so I should nominate it. Whoops. (The Arrival was totally robbed of a Hugo last year for lack of a category--it was nominated for best 'related book', and I voted for it, but it hadn't a prayer. Witness the fact that the winner of that category is referred to in the final result list on the Denvention website as winner of best 'non-fiction book', a category which did not exist. *rolls eyes*)

Looking forward to reading it, at any rate.

I got my copy a little early, but I've definitely seen it in bookstores. (Which is nice for me, because it meant I didn't have to go chasing down The Rabbits for this ridiculous project.) Tales from Outer Suburbia is very different from The Arrival, but it's definitely awesome in its own right.
